I speak only English so that was a big disadvantage to me and to the staff. Most of the nurses were outstanding. They did their best DURING THE WEEK to accommodate me but the weekends were a horror story. The therapists, every one, were wonderful, skilled and helpful in every way. My wife had to continually check that I was receiving the correct medications and they would forget to change a fentanyl patch I wear for pain so I spent several days in severe pain until someone (my wife) would fi d the expired patch. One doctor decided I was suffering from depression and added Zoloft to my medications. After repeatedly asking that I NOT be given the medication, I discovered that they had been giving it to me...no wonder I could hardly function in the early morning therapy sessions! The case manager was very limited in her ability to help us make arrangements for discharge and we were left "hanging" until the day before discharge as to which facility I would be going to. When my wife arrived to take me "home", she was informed that I was being sent to the emergency room for evaluation by a neurosurgeon....a resident who wanted nothing to do with me...and I am still in emergency room HELL at Centro Medico 22 hours later. I would tell anyone needing therapy here to use the outpatient service only.
