My stay in the ICU was the worst experience of my life! The nurse manager was very rude to me. He yelled at me when I was unable to talk due to the breathing tube in my throat. When I complained to my sister about it, he later came in my room calling me a liar, pointing his finger in my face and demanded that we settle the situation. I begged him for 10 minutes to please leave my room and he told me that he didn't have to go anywhere. After complaining to the manager over the ICU department, the whole nursing staff started treating me differently. Nurses came into my room without knocking, wouldn't look at me and half of the time wouldn't say a word to me. Also, while providing care (bed bath, etc), the nurses left the door and the the window to my room wide open. I had no privacy... I was embarrased and humiliated! I spent 5 days in hell! Once I was moved to a regular room, my care was the best! All of my doctors were great from day 1 and the nurses in the B4 unit were very attentive and caring! Please beware of the ICU!
